Pip Squires
Pip Squires is an experienced and enthusiastic Training Consultant / Adviser, with broad experience of working with both public and private sector organisations including enterprise, leisure, oil and gas, manufacturing, finance, security and retail in careers, outplacement and management development contexts. Through her work as an associate of Roc Plus (a former supply partner to HIE) and with the Tourist Board Training she has provided well founded advice and training to individuals and SME’s through business start up, staff and business development, and has direct experience of running her own and partnership businesses in the Highlands.

Development training: Design and group delivery in areas such as team building, leadership, communications, customer care skills, problem solving, interviewing skills, wildlife tourism. Specialist in using the outdoors as a training medium.
Business Advice: Group training courses, also 1-1 coaching, preparation and advice for business startup; supporting SME’s through EFQM and business development through Wildlife Tourism Training.
Psychometric assessment: MBTI Steps 1 and 2, also Assessor for career, personal or team development, or selection as appropriate. Occupational testing: Aptitude testing for selection and recruitment.
SVQ Assessor for Management VQ programme L3-5, Glensanda Superquarry, Argyll.
Development and Career Coaching: For all levels. 1-1 coaching and group training supporting individuals through change: training in career management, job seeking skills, interview performance, pre retirement.
Project management: Set-up and management of onsite resource centre projects for outplacement. Team leadership, staff recruitment, consultant resourcing, service delivery through coaching and group training, liaison and negotiation with outside agencies, reporting back to client, always working closely with client company HR and supporting business. Average successful outcome rate of over 90%.
Locally this includes co coordinating outplacement assistance for Arjo Wiggins employees as part of the local PACE partnership, accountable to Lochaber LEC.
Pip enjoys outdoor pursuits and is a regular First Aider for mountain bike races, as well as an ocassional competitior. She also enjoys rowing and skiing.
Pip is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD) and holds a Diploma in Training Management and a Bachelor of Education degree
She has Psychometric accreditation: MBTI Steps 1, 2 and Team Applications and Assessor and is an S/NVQ Assessor for Management VQs Levels 3-5 Strategic / Operational
She has various outdoor leadership certificates incl. Winter Mountain Leader Award, 1st Aid: H. and S. at Work Cert. (4 day, through British Assn. of Ski Patrols)
