Bliadhna Theàrlaich the story of The '45 through song and music - The Ironworks, 28th September. 2007.
The Gaelic Society of Inverness' 2007 concert was entitled "Bliadhna Thearlaich" the story of the '45 through song and music. The concert was supported by The National Trust for Scotland in recognition of the new Culloden visitor centre and exhibition opening later this year as part of Highland 2007.
The concert featured some of Scotland's leading Gaelic singers:-
- Margaret Stewart
- Gillebride MacMillan
- Griogair Lawrie
- and Jenna Cumming
who performed Jacobite songs of the '45, some of which are rarely ,if ever, heard nowadays.
The concert also featurred music , dance and verse from:-
- Lisa Storey
- Breabach,
- Simon MacKerrel
- Frank MacConnel's dance group
- and The Ross and Cromarty Pipes & Drums School
The concert was recorded by BBC Radio, for transmission later in the year.
