Adventures in Image and Story

Images, Magic and Words that take you straight to the heart of the story.

I do congratulate you on The Seven.  I really like its rigour, its pace, its wit and the way you step so easily through the window between the worlds.

Kevin Crossley Holland     Author of The Arthur Trilogy and Storm.

I am a writer, teacher, storyteller and performer with over thirty years experience working with just about every age group and ability. As a teacher and a facilitator I feel I am able to nurture qualities within people that they might not always know they have. I offer a variety of adventures in image and story that can be adapted to suit age and ability. Both images and words are used to engage and challenge the child or adult and provide them with the opportunities to learn, explore and interact.

I particularly enjoy working with myth and traditional tale and the themes and messages they embody. Some of these have inspired my first children’s book ‘The Seven’ which combines the theme of loss and change with famous characters and stories from Welsh myth.

I like how you're playing with folk tale Steve and using it to explore themes that matter to you. The story is moving and well-written.

Malachy Doyle            Author of Swap and The Football Ghosts

Adventures in Image and Story offer the following choice of workshops. Each is available in either half or full day form with an extension offered for creative writing, storytelling or drama, or a combination of all of these. As a performer/storyteller the extracts from the book will be in the form of a dramatised storytelling. But I am happy to offer a more conventional reading on request. Please ask for details.
