Bluetits

I feel Bluetits are very characteristic of the "standard" British garden bird. They're very photogenic and charismatic little things though and I enjoy seeing them. We always get quite a lot in our garden and have had several families nest in boxes. Towards the end of summer last year, I created a small motion detector and modified my compact camera, so that the detector could trigger the camera. The little digital camera is small enough so as no to bother them and doesn't make a sound when it takes pictures. This allowed me to have the camera very close to them giving really interesting perspectives of their way of life. I hope this year to get some good shots of the juveniles after they fledge.
