Ailsa Craig
The Ailsa Craig scarf is knitted in a beautiful lace stitch in our 100% Superfine Merino Botany Lace. The stitch is full of wave-like movement, and the chosen colours are inspired by the sea surrounding the island of Ailsa Craig at the entrance to the Clyde, and the heathers, mosses and lichens which cover the rocky slopes.
The scarf is open-ended, and light to wear, making it ideal for any season of the year. It is also a substantial 1m 80cm long, which will allow you to wear it in a variety of ways to suit your mood and outfit.
As this yarn is hand dyed in small batches, and there are no lot numbers, no two skeins are exactly the same. This makes for a wonderful variegation in the tones, and as a result, the shadings will change throughout the knitted piece, but this is normal, and adds to it's uniqueness.
