SmartFlood Power-saving Floodlight

The Smartflood power-saving security floodlight is made in the UK by ASD, and is Dark Sky Lighting's floodlight of choice when durability, weather resistance, power saving and a high level of glare prevention are demanded.

The Smartflood uses 26 watt compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs (equivalent to a 'standard' 125w bulb), can be connected to a standalone PIR* motion sensor to save even more power.

If properly sited it will restrict almost all of its light output below the horizontal, thereby drastically reducing glare and light pollution and allowing for very low power consumption and running costs. With excellent enclosure seals, and rated to IP65, it's also tough enough to withstand anything the British climate and weather can throw at it.

This ability means that a much lower wattage bulb is required to light a large area than a traditional halogen floodlight. This means much lower running costs and much greater efficiency as well as much less wasted light. Build quality is very good too, and the fitting is also very easy to set up and maintain.

The Smartflood, properly oriented, is designed to light only the desired area using much lower wattage than conventional floodlights. Consuming less energy keeps your running costs really low, and helps to reduce CO2 pollution as less electricity needs to be produced.

Conclusions
The Smartflood is very well made from extremely tough, light and weather-resistant polycarbonate. Don't be fooled by its light weight - this is a heavyweight champ in the floodlight world.

The Smartflood is a very good and practical security flood light fixture for those who need larger area lighting but want to avoid the glare of a halogen floodlight, and who'd like to reduce their bills, power usage and CO2 pollution too.

* Modern compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL) reach full brightness very quickly, but not immediately, so if using your smartflood with a PIR sensor it is recommended that it be set to light for a minimum of 5 minutes.
