A typical doorway, porch or outdoor bulkhead security light is usually just a clear plastic box with a bright bulb in it, shining dazzling light in all directions all night - and quite often all day too. It wastes power, spoils the night sky, and often doesn't even provide good lighting where you really need it - beneath it and on the ground so you can see where you are going. The Eyelid PIR Bulkead is different.

Cowled with a smart black shield, the tough polycarbonate Eyelid PIR Bulkead is designed to function as a partial cut-off light, reducing the amount of light shining upwards, and concentrating light downwards. The 'opal' polycarbonate shade diffuses the bulb's light enough to spread it evenly where you need it for security and safety, and stops eye watering and confusing dazzle.

Save power and light with a discrete mini-PIR
Equipped with probably the world's smallest passive infra-red (PIR) sensor, the light is triggered by the movement of a person moving past it within 8 metres. Once the visitor has left, it then automatically cuts out after 1 minute and 40 seconds, saving you money and reducing light waste. Energy-saving when it can, light giving when and where it's needed.

What if I need the light on longer?

The Eyelid PIR Bulkhead is cleverly designed with an easy-to-use overide. Once the light is triggered on, simply toggle your light switch - off/on/off/on - and the light will flash 3 times to indicate that it will stay on permanently - for up to 8 hours during darkness. It will automatically cut out again in daylight if left.

If you want the light off again, simply toggle your light switch again - off/on/off/on - and it will flash three times, then cut out after 1 minute and 40 seconds.
