Yamaha GL1 Guitarlele
Half guitar, half ukulele... 100% fun!
A unique mini Yamaha 6-string nylon guitar that is sized like a baritone ukulele (17” scale) and plays like a standard tune guitar. The guitalele’s tuning is pitched up to “A” (or up a 4th) at A/D/G/C/E/A. I find it handy to fit in a suitcase, and its lightweight. My Yamaha Guitarlele is an ideal way to retain guitar chords and tuning rather than go for a full uke (OK I have a couple of those too).

 G51 Headstock Yes, it has the old style traditional Spanish design of headstock. Flamenco and classical nylon strung guitars usually all use the same type of slotted headstock design, but with an ornate carved crest at the top of the headstock. Although to the uninitiated these headstock may all look very similar, each maker tries to design their own distinctive carving pattern. Such guitars also don’t normally employ a headstock logo or brand. Any branding on these guitars is restricted to a paper label on the inside of the guitar that’s visible through the soundhole. |
