The Story of the Anderson Study

The idea for this website came when two avid family history researchers realised that over several years they had amassed an enormous amount of data about Andersons in Aberdeenshire and the nearby counties. 

At this point the Anderson One Name Study was born and they started to look at ways of making their information available to help others who were also researching the Anderson family name.  Not long after this website was born.

The prime movers are Bob Bruce and Chris Kennedy who "met" through their common interests.  Bob lives in the South East of England and started researching his and his wife's family histories in 2009.  Chris lives in Ontario and has been researching since his father asked him back in 2004 to look into his parents' families. Since that time Chris has been able to trace several strands of his family back to his Scottish roots.

Others who are involved in the project are Bob's wife Bryony, an Anderson by birth, who is acting as webmaster and Jamie Hamlyn.  The team would like to thank Jamie for his generous help in research and in loading data into the project's databases.
