Alonzo & Hilda  Ruckman’s family met for a mini reunion, western region on 4 December 2010.  in Carlsbad, Ca. Their daughter, Alice Ruckman Sheets and s granddaughter, Dee (Parcher) Eakes, organized the event which was very enjoyable.  Of course we had Mexican food for lunch.  Most of us had not seen each other since 2003 for the funerals of Martha Parcher in June and David Ruckman in October.

There were 23 people in attendance with most of us from Alonzo and Hilda’s immediate family.  Dave Ruckman’s daughters, Barbie Bortolin, Pam Monroe and daughter Tiffany Monroe and grandson, Spenser Monroe;  Martha Ruckman Parcher’s family were Carol McLeod and spouse Ken, from Oregon and her daughter Heather and husband, Dee Eakes of Victorville, Ca and friend Tim and his Mother, Judi, Kay (Dee’s twin sister) and Scott Heiserman from Minnesota and David Parcher and his son David from LA.  To finish the group were Alice’s daughters, Becky Seemann, from Minnesota and her daughter, Lisa Mattes and grandson Zach Mattes from Wisconsin, Debbie Sant and her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Chrissy Sant plus her parents, all of California.  Unfortunately we were unable to locate Hazel Grover’s sons,  Keith and Mark Grover, who live in Indiana.

It was also December birthday time as 6 of us are December babies so Alice brought cupcakes for all with birthday candles for the birthday people.

It was fun catching up on everyone and Alice did kid the group that she is now the family ‘matriarch’ since she is the only survivor of Alonzo and Hilda’s children.  Everyone agreed we should do this more often.
