Welcome to PINS
PINS is a charity registered in Scotland No. SCO 39222 founded in 2007 and run by a very small committee of volunteers based in the Mull of Kintyre on the west coast of Scotland.
The charity’s objectives are:
• To provide support and information to people affected by Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP).
• To increase awareness of PGP and the impact it has on people's lives.
• To raise standards of care for people with PGP.
• To encourage networking amongst health professionals who are treating people with PGP.
We have over 300 members from throughout the UK and overseas and over the last two years have developed our membership services to include a quarterly newsletter, monthly updates and an active internet forum exclusively for members which is run through Google Groups.
At PINS we recognise that PGP affects people in very individual ways. The majority of those affected only ever experience mild symptoms which do not cause lasting problems. Others, however, experience symptoms which can last long after the pregnancy and PGP can affect women who have never been pregnant and men too.
Membership Services available through PINS:
Confidential Telephone and Email Support :
Confidential support via telephone and email is available by emailing support@pelvicinstability.org.uk or telephoning 01586 830323.
PINS Internet forum run through Google Groups:
We have an online forum, which allows members to get in touch with each other with the aim of reducing the isolation which many of them have felt. It is a great place to share experiences or just read what other people have to say.
If you would have indicated on our online membership form that you would like to join our internet forum Samantha Seigelman, our forum Co-ordinator will be in touch shortly to help get this set up for you. It is run through google groups and is entirely separate from our website. If you have any queries about the PINS Google group or experience any difficulties accessing it Samantha will be delighted to help you. Samantha can be contacted by email at forum@pelvicinstability.org.uk.
