That Man's Bikes Again 1950-1980
This is the sequel to One Man’s Motorcycles 1939-1949. The years 1950-1980 were momentous decades in the motorcycle world: in 1950 British motorcycles led the world as they had done for decades but by 1980 all the major British motorcycle manufacturers had put up their shutters. Peter and Edna McManus successfully ran their motorcycle businesses in Derby and Nottingham during those years and this is their story. On the wider scene changes were equally dramatic with social, political and technological changes. These major changes are described and illustrated. Lavishly illustrated with many hitherto unpublished photographs loaned by leading motorcyclists of the day. The book is written both for motorcyclists and the general reader.
