Dean Green Collection
This page is dedicated to the memory of Dean Green, a great friend and collector of post war Hornby Trains.
Starting with a Christmas gift, Dean put together one of the most comprehensive collections of post-war Hornby Trains ever assembled. This included a stunning recreation of the famed Hornby display stand at the 1949 British Industries Fair.
Selling this collection in 2005 to fund other interests, he retained his interest in Hornby Trains, continuing to trade and soon began to assemble another collection, this time focusing on boxed sets and BR era products.
I have been asked by Gill to catalogue and sell this second collection together with the residue of Dean’s sales stock.
The sale of the first instalment of the collection will go live, here at OTT, at 6:00 pm (BST) on Saturday 12th. September. This will be a representative cross section of the collection, to give you all a taste of what is to come. This will be followed by further selections over the next few months.
Christmas 1985, Dean opens his present – a Hornby L.N.E.R. Type 501 – the same as he had as a boy!
