Biography
Thanks for visiting my site. Below I will give you some highlights of my life to date.
I am 42 years old and come from a small village in North Wales called Llannefydd. I am a first language Welsh speaker and have two brothers.
I was educated at my local village school and at Ysgol Glan Clwyd before going to study Administration at Bangor Normal College.
From 1992 till 1994 I was Head Custodian at Denbigh Castle. More work with the civil service followed including a period with The Inland Revenue and The DWP.
In 1997 I became an Administrator with the Denbigh Benefit Advice Shop and stayed there for two years. In 1999 I went to work in Anheddau as a Co-ordinator for their Mental Health Befriending Scheme, finishing in 2001. In that year I joined Coleg Harlech/WEA as an Advice and Guidance Worker.
In 2002 I had my first foray into Radio Broadcasting joining Radio Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. I was trained by Eleri Wynne Williams and presented a weekly Welsh Language Show on Sunday evenings.
Between 1999 and 2000 I was a Listening Volunteer for The Samaritans and I have been a Caseworker for SSAFA Forces Help an ex service charity since 1994.
In 2002 I returned to University to study for a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work at Manchester University. I completed my studies in July 2005 having done placments at The Salvation Army, Rochdale Older Peoples Team and Creative Support.
In July 2005 I returned to North Wales and became a Social Worker for Flintshire County Council. A period at Denbighshire County Council, Gwynedd Council and Conwy Council followed where I worked in Older Peoples Teams, Learning Disability Teams and Physical Disability Teams.
My last post as a Social Worker was in 2009 where I worked for Cheshire West Council.
During this time I continued my voluntary work with SSAFA Forces Help, and continued playing in Brass Bands having been a member of Rhyl Silver Band on and off since 1987.
A period of change occured from 2009 where I was looking to move from Social Work. I was also caring for a family member who was quite unwell.
In May 2010 I joined Point FM in Rhyl building up from one show a week to a schedule of three shows a week.
I was The Head of Welsh Programmes for Point Fm and the Welsh Language Webmaster.
In January 2013 I returned to my roots in radio broadcasting and joined Radio Glan Clwyd. I currently present a two hour Classical Music Programme on Sunday afternoons 12-2pm. Its called CLASSIC SUNDAY and features Classic Romance, Classic Film Themes and Classic Crossover. It is early days but I am hoping to extend my broadcasting hours on Radio Glan Clwyd.
My TV and Radio apperances have included working for the BBC at The National Eisteddfod, being featured guest on an arts programme for S4C and being interviewed for BBC Radio Cymru by Hywel Gwynfryn.
I have also interviewed many individuals including Colin Fry the International Spiritualist Medium and the Welsh Legend that is Max Boyce.
I currently live in Denbigh with mypartner Sarah and our seven cats Gump, Emmy, Gandalf,Garfield, Om, Katie and Gizmo and our two budgies Bootsie and Erica.
