Entering the Forest
The crisp chill soothes my skin
having been broiled in the sun
during this long summer walk.
I look up into an emerald sky
and suddenly feel as if the trees
were singing me a lullaby.
Robins nest in my hair,
furry creatures rest
on my branches.
I stretch my roots
into cool soil.
One with the Earth,
I am home.
