The album was recorded on a very cold day in February 2011. We had hail on the ground and not hailish much heating!
The recording was done in "one take" using my Martin DM with elixir polyweb .013 strings. The exceptions to this being "Music By Numbers" which was done using midi and the rhythm guitar on "Janitors Farewell To Java" which was done in open Bb tuning using Don's "old" Epifone.

Most of the track titles explain themselves eg. "Angus' Anthem" I wrote for my son. Newdale used to be the local "poor house" and if you haven't got the blues living there you deserve a medal. The tune" Janitor's Farewell To Java" takes it's title from an area in Craignure where I used to work.
"DNA" evolves mathetically! The chord sequence in" Music By Numbers" came from two car registration plates, I put them together and Don did the rest.
"Now and Then" I just like and" Spod"is personal with a spanish feel.
The title track" Sunrise Over Calve". what can I say. Many mornings walking to work I see just that. Beautiful, peaceful always changing and never the same twice. The Island is also where my Gran grew up'
I really enjoyed writing and recording this CD and it is due for release in July 2012. I hope you enjoy listening.
