Hi, and welcome to my website.

Many of you may not know my name but I guarantee a very large number of you will have heard my work.

I have been a professional guitarist since the age of eleven, playing in the blues, jazz, folk, country and scottish genre. I have played and worked with some of the finest scottish and international musicians in the industry.

When working as a session player I played on several high volume selling singles and in the late 80's I played on a version of a double grammy award winning number  1 hit.

You still haven't heard of me because until he retired a few years ago, I spent the best part of 35 years, working, mostly in pubs and hotels on the west coast of Scotland as my Dad, Jimmy's, lead guitarist.

My first CD "Sunrise Over Calve" happened as a result of a couple of accidents and a bet!

The first accident happened a few years ago whilst on Holiday in Orlando with my family. I came across a music shop, played a few guitars and ultimately bought the Martin DM on which I wrote and very largely recorded the CD.

My engineer Don is the second accident. I met him purely as a result of working with his wife.

They came to supper- I played a couple of tunes and Don said "have you got anymore like that? I'll record them if you like" The resulting CD "Sunrise Over Calve" is the bet part.

I was talking to a  friend at a Martin Taylor concert and he said "that will be the new guitar for the bonfire." I said "no way, I'm gonna write a CD for solo guitar".
