This has been a difficult year for everyone but perhaps those of us with an interest in art have been luckier than most. We tend to complain about not having enough time for painting and now we have an abundance of it - or should have, though in practice it doesn't always work out that way! Being a member of Redcastle Art Group has been a huge help. We have kept our monthly meetings going, virtually of course. We work under the guidance of Jonathan Shearer, and at the end of the day have a Zoom session when we show and discuss the resulting paintings. Between times we use Facebook to keep in touch and let each other see what we have been working on. We all look forward to the day when we can meet face to face again but in the meantime having such a supportive group of friends and fellow artists has been a lifeline.
i recently exhibited in an online auction in aid of Marie Curie. This was hugely well supported and astonishingly raised over £71000. The small group of organisers worked their socks off to make this a success and are to be congratulated on their magnificent effort. It's such a worthwhile charity and certainly deserves - and needs - all the help it can get.
