Family Learning Action Group (FLAG) supports families living in the Calderside and St. John Ogilvie learning communities of South Lanarkshire.

FLAG is a voluntary group that meets on a weekly  basis to organise learning opportunities for families in the Hillhouse, Burnbank and Blantrye areas.  

The group formed after families attended several family learning programmes with Home School Partnership.  Some parents decided to try to raise money for family trips and from this 'FLAG' was established in April 2009.   

The group is supported by the Community Learning and Home School Partnership Service from South Lanarkshire Council.  This partnership enabled FLAG to link in with the Head Teacher at Calderside Academy and it was agreed with the Head Teacher that the group would set up the administration base in Calderside Academy in Blantyre.
