The symptoms of a number of psychological disorders are triggered by the recall of a negative memory which is linked to an unwanted emotion. The IEMT treatment works by removing the link between negative memory and unwanted emotion.
After the treatment, the memory can be recalled, the emotion, which is no longer linked, is not involved. The symptoms do not appear.
The IEMT treatment is -
Fast: The IEMT treatment consists of 3 sessions (a discovery session and 2 treatment sessions). However, the core IEMT treatment can take a very short time and be effective – the fear of flying.
Easy: Just follow the instructions and there will not be any need to change to your lifestyle except for Social Anxiety.
Effective: You can feel the changes during the session.
Precise: You are providing the memory that is provoking the symptoms. There is no guesswork or deduction by the practitioner.
Long-Lasting: Once the cause is taken away, the symptoms should not reappear.
Drug-free: No drugs are involved. It is about you as a person.
Content-free: You do not have to re-live or repeat the trauma again or repeatedly. Confidentiality is maintained at all times.
After that, you should not have any emotional reaction to the negative memory that I have worked on or in some cases, you might have forgotten the memory. You will be thinking of the future and not harking back to the past, no flashbacks or nightmares anymore.
Other practitioners consistently report that IEMT has created change in their clients where no other approach has worked previously.
How can IEMT treatment help you:
1. The specialist treatment:
PTSD and its symptoms – the traumatic events are relived through flashbacks and nightmares. There are consequent changes in behaviour and personality.
Anxiety including panic attacks, social anxiety. Anxiety causes both psychological and behavioural changes to the person.
2. Other psychological disorders that can be helped:
Stress – the inability to cope when there is a feeling of too much mental and emotional pressure. I have worked to reduce the stress of staff, as an in-house consultant, in a large hotel.
Fear and Phobia – like the fear of flying incident described, spiders, heights, fears, failure or public speaking.
Reactive Depression – the symptoms of depression appear after encountering the triggering memory.
Guilt, regret, anger and panic - to reduce these feelings.
3. The use of IEMT on issues that are in the present or in the future.
Anxiety before an event like a driving test, a job interview, appearance in court, an examination etc. The symptoms of anxiety are removed.
To change your perception of another person: You hate your boss; you disagree with your partner. The emotion towards that person lessens or disappears.
Details of the treatment:
Discovery Session: Gathers your personal history, your suitability and select the memories for treatment. The question asked is “What would your life be like without this problem?”
Main Session: Together we work through the agreed memories in the Discovery Session. I will ask you to move your eyes in a particular pattern to cut the link between the negative memory and the unwanted emotion. Usually, four memories or more can be covered during this session.
Follow-up Session: Discuss any new issues you would like addressed, outstanding issues arising from the Main Session, and methods to minimize reactions that cause anxiety. This session is essential to complete the treatment.
