Over fifty years ago Kirkcaldy lost its first newspaper.
Printed in the High Street for well over a century, a falling circulation eventually caused it to falter and fade during the 1960s.
The publication was created by John Jeffers Wilson who had been apprenticed at Tait's Magazine alongside Alexander Ritchie, who went on to found The Scotsman newspaper.
The paper started in 1838 ran in various forms until 1848 when it took on a new larger form with a bi-monthly circulation of 700.
