This website introduces the work of Lewis Access Panel to campaign for access improvements. It includes information about the group, and an Access guide.
The Access Lewis guide can help you to find out how accessible certain buildings and services are if you have a disability. It may also help you if you are a parent with a pram or if you are getting on in years and are less mobile than you used to be.
Click on the ACCESS LEWIS! tab on the left hand column of this page to find out which buildings and services have been audited. The Access Guides show how easy it would be to get to the building, and what problems you might find such as ramps, stairs, restrictions, heavy doors and so on. The Guides will also show how accessible the building is internally and if there are suitable toilets and parking for the use of disabled people.
Travelling is exciting and fun, and Scotland is a safe country, but don't neglect your health insurance.
Want to comment? Or have you found a location or service that we haven't audited yet? You can send us your own views about access either privately or on the public forum to share with other site visitors. We welcome your own reports and pictures. So get writing!
