Spring Cleaning with natural products

So many people pick up a bottle of this cleaner or a carton of that powder when they pass through the supermarket, without ever giving a thought to what they might be doing to their health and that of their family. An incredible number of harmful chemicals are mixed up in many of these high street cleaners, chemicals which have well documented side effects onpeople who come into contact with them or who breathe in their fumes.

In addition, the bottles and cartons contain chemicals which just might make even more dangerous mixtures when they come into contact with each other. And yet the general public continues to use them.

It is telling that when some of these products are used in a workplace environment, the workforce have to be trained in their use under the government's Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations. Yet no one gives the average householder this training - they are expected to read the label. I doubt if many of them do so. 

Add to that the contamination of our waste water with these products, and we have a problem. This water goes to our water companies and is then cleaned and recycled for us to use, our regular mains water on tap. Hmmm... I hope they really do get the nasties out of the water before it comes back here.
