Next Work Party Day

  Saturday 15th October 9.30am - 12.30

All Helpers needed!......

Hi everyone,

It's time to get that fence finished !

It would be fabulous if we could have those people back who helped Brian to put up the Rabbit proof part of the fencing, as then no training needed and we can just get stuck in and get the rest completed on the day to keep those rabbits and other hungry animals out of the plots!!!.

Dont worry if you didn't make it last time you wont miss out, we still need your help on the 15th also, as there are a multitude of other projects that need to be completed.  Please let us know if you can make it by using the feedback form on this site. The more people who are able to help, the quicker we get completed and we won't need another working party day so soon after.

We need to mark out some more plots as we now have a waiting list as all plots are spoken for. Theres also the Drainage to sort, communial compost bins to complete, and a few other jobs.

We got quite a bit of work completed last work party weekend, with all the posts in thanks to Brian, Colin, Peter, Max and Ian Humphry. The rabbit proof fencing wire was completed thanks to my lovely husband Ian and Phil. Max and Ian H, put up the communial shed up and it was part painted with the help of Mrs Humphry, Oliver and Issac.    Sarah, Anna, Jo, Gillian, Isacc and Mrs Humphry made light work of putting all the turf back once the rabbit proofing wire hade been put up. And 3 more raised beds for the students use, were completed. Thanks everyone mammoth effort by all...

We did not however finish all the jobs needing to be done. Therefore we will need to have another work party day very soon and Max has now confirmed that next Saturday morning 6th August will be good for Brian.

No experience needed for any of these jobs as we have the expertise of Brian (Head groundsman) who will act as foreman and guide on the day. Ian and I had never put up wire fencing before and ended up gaining a new skill which is always fab!  You just need a desire to help us get the jobs done and a willingness to learn some new skills along the way.

More hands will be needed to help errect the deer proofing fence wire, to dig the French drain and to clear the herb plot ready for planting up with perrenial herbs for all to share.

Please let me know on 07553219636 if you can make it or respond via the feedback form on this site.

Many thanks in advance for all who are able to assist with these tasks.
