The Rising Sun Boules Club
The Rising Sun Boules Club was formed in 2008 and play competitively in the Boules In Gwent (BIG) League.
The teams play at the Rising Sun Inn with the courtesy and support of Gerwyn, Joanne & Family
2017 - Update
2017 sees a change of ownership of the Rising Sunn Inn and we all wish Gerwyn, Joanne and Family all the best for the future.
2017 sees another change in the divisions of the BIG League, the Shunters stay in First Division, the Locomotives go up to the second and the Buffers stay in the Third Division, there are still 41 teams in the BIG League?
The club strength stays roughly the same, but with some changes in the Buffers, with some of the older members moving on and new members moving in.
We welcome the Sleepers the new team who joined from the Ffrwd this year 2017 and wish them good luck in the 4th Division.
The Winter Competition went well and the traditional opening melee, The Terry Watkins Memorial Cup Melee was well attended.
The club now has a Facebook page www.facebook.com/risingsunboules/ (click on link) this makes it easier to get information to members, and members can communicate with each other.
Pistes
New lights have been added to the pistes and new blockwork edges and walls have been added to the four main pistes, there is still more work to be done, but the club still has six main pistes and use the gravel path to increase it to ten if necessary.
