Hiding problems is considered unhealthy and is rather like sweeping dirt under the carpet.
The aim is to reveal problems and what is preying on one's mind as often someone else is in the same situation.
Bringing a problem into the open can be like a blast of fresh air, blowing the cobwebs from the mind.
The aim is to fill a gap that exists in the media.
Cases are reavealed in good faith with no intention to offend anyone.

The short answer is to do the same as if you were watching a television programme with sex and bad language - that is, switch off or change to another channel. All you have to do is stop reading or go to another website.
