RESTORATIONS 4

Below our photographs of the completed restoration of the model " The George Cummin" .

I only had the hull to work with and given the brass  screw on keel  i dated the hull from around the 1920s. The hull had been carved from a solid block of wood  and thankfully hollowed out.

After a lot of nitromors to remove the coats of paint and varnish i had to sand down to a smooth surface. The deck had split and was replaced. My client wanted the model radio controlled so i installed a rudder servo and a lever arm large scale sail winch. A new mast, bowsprit and sails  and stand were made to finish off the model.
