ITEM 1:

Soon to be released: Larry Elford's film entitled Breach of Trust.
The National Post dated, Saturday, October 21, 2006 had this to say:

Film exposes the rotten apples of the Canadian investment world

Larry Elford of Lethbridge, Alta., is sort of Canada's Michael Moore. The former financial advisor, now investor advocate, traveled across the country to interview people for his film Breach of Trust, slated to be out by January. The flick is described on the CD jacket as "a stunning documentary that investigates the Canadian financial industry's abusive nature and the trail of collateral damage that is left behind."  The CD jacket also says: "Larry Elford has questioned the impossible and the  results are horrific, disturbing and mind blowing." IIn a trailer note, he's somewhat more subtle: "We probably won't change the world, but we certainly are not quite ready to give up, either."

Must read:

"This is a timely book, aimed at average Canadians who put too much trust in their financial advisors."
- Toronto Star

from the back cover:

The Naked Investor sounds a wake-up call for Canadians. Through real-life stories, it exposes the dark side of the investment industry, revealing the tactics of greedy brokers and advisors, voracious banks and mutual fund operators, and outright embezzlers.

The Naked Investor will disturb both an industry that appears more focused on building wealth for itself than for its clients and RRSP investors whose trust too often is misplaced - with devastating consequences.
