News.....

Report – Week 5…..  We start back up in full swing after the bank holiday and have 18 games to play this week.  We lost another player this week and offer a space back to him for when he wishes to return in future seasons.

Kyle Bevan continues his unbeaten streak with 8 out of 8 and still hasn’t dropped a leg so far, he reassumes his position at top of the table. In second place we have Mick Bown with 7 out of 11 wins with 2 drawn and 2 losses. Last week’s top of the table Mark Gwalchmai stays in third place joint with John Smyth who have exactly the same points. 11 Points separate the top 6 places next week is the half way point in the league so it’s all still to play for.

Report – Week 4…..  Bank Holiday and unknown numbers expected however we had 14 players turn up which allowed us to play 16 games.

Last weeks top of the table Mark Gwlachmai was absent this week and drops down third place and is level on games played with Kyle. 8 Points separate the top 6 places but its early in the league and can all change if results go the opposite way for the players.

Report – Week 3…..  We start the week announcing a couple of entries have dropped out and we welcome them back for future seasons. We had 19 People turn up this week and we had both some very close games and some shock results one of them being Michael Forsyth against Lee Lattimer with Michael winning 4-0 Lee had chances and the result should have been a 2-2 draw. We have a new leader of the table Mark Gwalchmai by 2 points over James Lee With John Smyth in 3rd Place and Mark O’Donnell in 4th Place. Last Weeks top of the table dropped down to 5 with his absence this week. Although next Week is Bank Holiday we will still be having Thursday Night at the Legion lets see what changes in the table happen with a number of absences already expected.

Report – Week 1…..  We start Season 16 of The Shirley Legion Double Top. We have 23 entries this time around.  The format for this season is 501 Straight Start. Some Returnees have come back for this season along with the person who ran this league for a number of years Mark Gwalchmai has returned after a 2 season break, we welcome him back to the league. The master of draws from last season Lee Lattimer got off to a winning start against Brian Lawton with a 4-0 win but with his game against Mick Bown was back to drawing way let’s hope this doesn’t continue for the rest of the season. No major surprises for this first week as there was six people not present. Kyle Bevan means to continue his way at the top after winning season 15 with two 4-0 wins.
