A Fresh Start

by Carole Waddell - 13:05 on 20 October 2008

This website is something of a fresh start for me. After two years of relentless anti-war campaigning and six months recovering from an anxiety illness, I need something to focus on which is positive and makes me feel good. The peace activism is as important to me as ever, but concentrating on it in a big way increases the risk of more anxiety, and I can't end up being incapacitated once more. Returning to my creative side and sharing it with others is a real joy, and this website is part of that sharing.

At the moment I am planning a new painting, but in the past few weeks Angie and I have been concentrating on our new websites, framing pictures and having greeting cards printed. Our new cards are 6"X4" in size, on good quality card and beautifully printed. If you'd like some then please email me for details; we can post them to you or drop them round personally if you live in Eastbourne. With Christmas on its way, my new card of Beachy Head in deep snow feels appropriate and unusual at the same time (although the snowfall, unbelievably, was in April!).

Also our Open House will be taking place in early December (see News page). It will be part of a trail organised by Eastbourne Artists, so you can visit other open houses on the same day. Much of our work will be for sale. If you're in the area, feel free to pop in for a look and some cheese and wine or fruit juice. More details of the Open Houses event can be found at www.eastbourneartists.co.uk.

Meanwhile I must get on with that painting: an acrylic of Silbury Hill, one of my favourite places in England.

Bye for now,

Michael
