Cherrio to Cled at Sand Bay
I am sure that many home organ enthusiasts will join me in thanking Cled Griffin and his team for producing such great festivals for the past 30 years.

In particular, I remember the festivals when Cled organised a fancy dress ball when everyone one dressed up with costumes provided by the wardrobe mistress at Pontin's Barton Hall. It was great fun, especially for those who did not recognise their dressed up friends.

It would be nice to see some photographs taken at those events because they are so humorous.

They were wonderful days and wonderful memories.

Years of Great Memories
I have been to almost every one of Cled Griffin's events since the first one at Barton Hall in Torquay in December 1980. At that time it was Pontin's premier holiday site and I remember all the waiters dressed in evening dress suits.
There was a slow demise with Pontin's over the years (not the entertainment) and during the transitional period, when it was sold to a German Bank. and given the brand name of 3D Education and Adventure for youngsters holidays, the meals became self service. Although the food was good, the standards had dropped. The concert hall had been converted into a gymnasium when the last keyboard event took place there in 2001 - the show was great but it was clearly time for a change - even although the IT computer suite with its 48 computers made it different to all other venues.
The move to Lyme Bay at Seaton (a former Warners holiday site) was like a breath of fresh air. The British Keyboard Awards and tribute shows to Klaus Wunderlch and Mark Shakespeare were events that will not be forgotten. Sadly Tesco bought the site for development in 2008.
The magical atmosphere moved to Sand Bay in 2009. I use the word 'magical" because of the compare Cled engaged for his shows - the master of comedy - Andy Oakley.
With the keyboard backing of the talented Ian Griffin, Andy has provided the best entertainment I have seen - anywhere,
May it long continue.

Great Events - best of the lot
I am so pleased that this website has been set up to highlight the best event for the home electronic organist and keyboard player,

I have attended many events of this type bur I can honestly say the this one tops the lot. Every one features something new and exciting and I am certainly looking forward to the next one
