REDCASTLE ART GROUP

Welcome to the Redcastle Art Group website. Apologies for any annoying adverts!

Our collective was formed in 2013 when a small group of artists who had got to know each other in Inverness felt a need to work and interact with others who, like themselves, had gained a good level of experience and to whom painting was more important than solely a leisure pursuit.

Membership of RAG is limited to 15 artists, due to capacity in the hall on the Black Isle where we meet every month. Some members are professional artists, others semi-professional ,or committed enthusiasts. Every month we meet for a day to paint together (occasionally en plein air). We take turns to bring soup and cake - sharing lunch is important to us too! The day ends with discussion and constructive critique, assisted by artist Jonathan Shearer who acts a mentor.

We have held successful group exhibitions over the years at venues such as Inverness Cathedral, UHI, and Cromarty Stables.

Current members of RAG are: Avril Marr, Frances Baxter, Clare Blois, Margaret McKay, William Mather, Margaret Cowie, Katherine Sutherland, David Brown, Meg Milne, Liz Hoey, Elizabeth Joss, Hilma Rask, Morven Boardman, Gay McKeown and Jane Weston.
