Conservative Education Spokesperson Visit to RSPB Vane Farm

by RSPB - 15:06 on 04 July 2008

Liz Smith visits RSPB Vane FarmElizabeth Smith, Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, visited Vane Farm on Friday 31st May to chat to primary and secondary pupils who have been involved in the ‘Making Connections’ project.

‘Making Connections’ was part of Growing up with Loch Leven, a long term partnership between RSPB, Scottish Natural Heritage and Perth & Kinross Council aimed at linking local communities with Loch Leven National Nature Reserve.  The ‘Making Connections’ project culminated in a week of outdoor environmental art; interpreting the National Nature Reserve using a variety of different media from animation to sculpture.

Elizabeth Smith’s visit supported the Real World Learning campaign in Scotland by building on recent moves by the Conservative party to gain cross-party support to provide every eleven-year-old with one five-day adventure break during their time at school.
