Our History - Our Heritage - Our Future.

Protestants seem to be confused and unable to relate to their historical and biblical roots. Probably because we are ashamed of the terrible errors of some of our forefathers, but we have never claimed that our Reformers were sinless men, perfect men or infallible men. They were men with all the weaknesses and frailties of mankind in the context of the historical period they lived in.

A person living in Rome would not certainly be liable for the crimes committed by the Roman Empire over two thousand years ago. So we cannot be regarded as guilty for the errors of our forefathers.

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him,and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him" (Ezekiel 18:20).

The study of Protestant history should encourage us to learn valuable lessons on the work of the Holy Spirit upon men through the preaching of His Word. We would like to recommend to your attention a series of illustrated power point presentations produced by the oldest Protestant society in United Kingdom, The Protestant Alliance (1845) founded by the famous Christian statesman, Anthony Ashley Cooper, 7th Earl of Shaftesbury, famous in secualr history for his social and educational reforms during the Victorian era.

We will copy below the text of one of their promotional leaflet regarding these populistic lectures.

Protestant Alliance Power Point Presentations
The Protestant Alliance has a unique ministry of giving historical presentations. These normally last between 30 and 50 minutes, are interesting and act as a good introduction to 41 subjects that many people do not know about today.

Such a work is essential to Christians today as God has said in His Word: "Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee." (Deuteronomy 32:7).
Obedience always brings blessing and such reflections encourage the Christian. Asaph found great blessing in meditating on God's works, as he wrote in Psalm 77: "I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings."
