Private podiatrists in the UK are under threat by the Foot Health Practitioners (FHP). This website is to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by those podiatrists and to campaign for various changes with regard to the profession.
The first campaign is to pressure the UK Govt into protecting the profession. This can be done, by ensuring that only Podiatrists (Chiropodists) are allowed to undertake toenail cutting on all patients who are in Risk Category 2 and 3; debriding callous with the use of a scalpel; enucleating corns with the use of a scalpel; making orthotics and insoles (the latter allowing Physios and Orthotists to also be providers).
