There are several gentle walks here in the village ranging from 0.5 miles to 5 miles situation along the gentle stream with brown trout and the village duck pond with a large amount of wildlife and Dalby forest has several walks ranging from 5 to 8 miles long.

The village is served by two local bus firms the Coastliner and the EYMS with buses every twenty minutes running  from Leeds via York to Scarborough and Scarborough to Sutton Bank via Helmsley.
