St. Jude's Church
I was hoping that you may be able to help me with some information on the church. My great Grandparents (CURRAN)gifted the Reredos and window of St. Peter and St. John in 1933. I will be making a visit to Wales from Canada at the end of March to do some research into my family tree and would like to take some pictures of the church to show to my mother (who is now 88 and immigrated to Canada as a war bride). is the church still open to the public?

Thanks you

I can arrange that the church is available for you to come in and take photographs. Please feel free to contact me on here or via my private email sarah_jones_1976@live.com

Nice to hear from you Mr. Butler. When I was in the Church this afternoon I checked on which of your ancestors we have
photographs of on the founders board. On the left we have W.N. Curran and then a picture of Fairfield Villa where the first services were held followed by a photograph of Mrs. Curran. On the right side we have Mr. O.J. Curran and Willie Curran. We do indeed still have services in St Jude's and I have asked our vicar Rev. Howard Parsell to contact you. Look forward to seeing you when you come to Swansea.

So happy to have read your post and the additional information about the family. I think that the W.N. Curran should actually be W.W. Curran (he is the Willie Curran you refer to and is my Great Great Uncle). O.J. Curran and the Mrs. Curran that you mention are my Great-great grandparents. Fairfield Villa, where services were first held, was the family home. There appears to have been a very strong church connection with the family - several of my ancestors were in the clergy, including two Bishops. My Great grandfather's family FULLER (on my Grandfather's side) also donated two stained glass windows to St. Margaret's Church in Glammon. Sadly, the church no longer operates however I have tracked down the windows which were moved to a nearby school. Looking forward to my two days in Swansea.
