Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition assessments in Morocco
We are an approved activity provider for Duke of Edinburgh's Award and our expedition assessments are designed to fulfill all 20 conditions of the DofE expeditions section. We have previously taken many school and youth groups on expedition from March - October and it has proved to be very achievable for all involved. Our expedition assessments can also be combined with a Sahara tour, community project or R&R phase in Essaourira.
Expedition highlights

Gold expedition assessment itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Marrakech airport, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free in Marrakesh. Hotel included, meals at own expense
Day 2: Supermarket shop in Marrakesh, then ransfer to Imlil 1800m, 1.5 hours. Acclimatisation trek from Tametert 2000m over Tizi n Tametert 2300m to Tachedirt 2200m. Camping, breakfast, lunch & dinner (participants & staff)
Day 3: Assessment trek from Tachedirt 2200m to Tizi n Eddi 2900m to Oukeimeden 2600m. Camping, breakfast only for participants (staff - breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Day 4: Trek from Oukeimeden 2600m to Imsker 1600m. Camping, no meals for participants (staff - breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Day 5: Trek from Imsker 1600m over Tizi n Techt 2200m to Tizi Oussem 1800m, Camping, no meals for participants (staff - breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Day 6: Trek from Tizi Oussem 1800m over Tizi Mezik 2200m to Aremd 2000m, Camping, no meals for participants (staff - breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Day 7: Trek to Imlil 1800m, 40 minutes. Transfer back to Marrakech, arrive by lunchtime. Free time in Marrakesh to explore the medina and souks. Hotel and breakfast included. Lunch & dinner at own expense
Day 8: Breakfast included. Transfer to Marrakesh airport

Additional information
Berber Treks supply tents, cooking pans, stoves and gas canisters for all participants and thick mattresses for staff. Our expeditions include a complimentary place for a teacher/accompanying adult and in line with our responsible tourism policy the trek is fully serviced for staff with meals shown above. Staff will also have main luggage bag portaged by mules and muleteers whilst on trek. Participants must cater for themselves on assessment however meals are catered for them on the acclimatisation day. Participants are required to carry all of their camping equipment, cook their own meals, write route cards, carry out an aim and are remotely supervised by their teacher/accompanying adult and assessed by an acredited assessor. Participants must also bring enough water purification tablets for the whole trek and each group will trek the same route with 30 minute staggered start, please enquire to see a route map.
