We have entered for 2013.  If you have any spare plants that you can plant out, around sign posts etc.  it would be helpful.  Please remember to water the tubs if we have a dry spell.

 

2012

We had good results for 2012 with Silver awards for The ward, Fearnhead, Normany Court, Brass Castle Golf Course, Fairy Dell won Gold and Grange Crescent Front Garden won Gold and the Best overall Front Garden.

 

 

2011

Today 7th July we have had the Summer judging.  Thank you to all residents who have made the effort in helping to make our ward look beautiful.   The ward looked really clean and our thanks must go to all the people who have picked litter plus the area care team who have worked with us.   We know that many residents were working till late last night to get their gardens tip top for the judging and this is greatly appreciated.  Lets hope we get good results.

Please can we remind residents to water the tubs in dry weather.

We had the judges for the Spring judging in April and the Summer judging is due to take place on 7th July.  Please do all you can to get Marton West looking at its best.

2010

We attended the presentations on13th September and received a Silver for the Ward.  This is an improvement on last year when we received a Bronze.  Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard this year.

We also received a Silver for Fairy Dell, a Silver for Fearnhead and a Bronze for Normanby Court, well done to all.

 

 

 

 

 

Our second judging this year will take place on 22nd July starting at      2 p.m.

The Friends of Fairy Dell have been working hard and are hoping for another grant to help with paths seats etc.

All the residents have been working hard again and the area is starting to look great.  The daffodils planted by the school children, brownies, scouts and cubs are blooming.

 

2009

We attended the awards ceremoney on 14th September and were awarded a bronze certificate for the ward.  We did not get anything for Fairy Dell, which  let us down on our overall marks.  We find it hard to believe tht we got Gold for Fairy Dell last year and did not get any recognition this year.

 

Our Summer judging this year will take place on 14 July 2009 10.00 a.m. to noon.

We have had so many people involved in the summer planting which is a great help to the ward. 

We have been out and about delivering leaflets and I must say we are totally impressed.  Everyone is making such an effort with hanging baskets and tubs.  Gardens are looking great. 

 

We were thrilled with our 'Silver Award' last year as it was our first entry.  We hope to 'Dig for Gold' this year.

We will be visiting Brass Castle Golf Club, Normanby Court, Bonnygrove Park, Fairy Dell and of course we will be looking at the area as a whole and all the beautifully kept gardens in our area. 

Keep up the good work Marton West we all need to pull together to make this happen.

 

2008

We went to the presentations in Gateshead on 8th September 2008.

We are absolutely thrilled with the results on our first year of entry.

The ward got a Silver award

Fairy Dell got a Gold award

This was a fantastic result so well done to everyone who made such a tremendous effort and especially all the Friends of Fairy Dell.

 The residents of Marton West Ward in Middlesbrough have worked really hard creating beautiful floral displays and keeping the ward clean and tidy.   We all recycle green waste, which goes to Haverton Hill and we can then go and collect free compost.

We recycle glass, tins and paper and have a vast amount of charities wanting clothing, mobile phones and ink cartridges and we certainly do our best to recycle as much as possible.  Most of us have compost bins.
