Fully Certified Locksmiths

Did you know that currently in the UK there is no licensing or registration of locksmiths so anyone without any skills or training can call themselves a locksmith.

So why do some companies put on their websites fully certified locksmiths ? I can only assume that its to try and distinguish themselves as being better and more qualified than others so they will get more work.

I for one believe that locksmiths should be licensed and this would be easy enought to do by putting locksmiths liocensing under the Security Industry Authority or SIA for short who currently licence and regulate the security industry.

By doing this they could also standardise the training of locksmiths and I for one would be happy for this to happen.
