Welcome to Lochs F C Official Web Site
This site is dedicated to all things Lochs F C.
History, news, fixtures, match reports, fans forum and photographs.
2014 marks the 80th Anniversary Season of Lochs FC. Formed in 1934, originally as Leurbost, and playing in blue at the Creagan Dubh, Lochs FC has moved on to great things since then, winning the Highland Amateur Cup twice. However, you can still watch them play at the Creagan Dubh in the footsteps of the original players of the 1930's. If you haven't managed to get to a game in recent seasons why not come along to support your local team during this their 80th year.
Lochs FC would like to thank all those who helped at and contributed to our stall at the Lochs Show. The club raised £1,000 on the day. Many thanks to you all.

Lochs Fall at Final Hurdle
With the League title up for grabs Westside and Lochs took the field on the last Wednesday of the season in Barvas. In what turned out to be a tough hard fought match the honours were even as the game ended 1-1. This point was enough to give West the title for the first time in their history. Lochs took the lead midway through the first half when Robert converted a penalty awarded after a reckless aerial challenge on Jim. David and Jim had further chances as the half wore on but failed to add to their tally. Into the second half and Lochs looked the likelier side to add to the scoring in the first ten minutes. West then had a 15min period of dominance during which they hit the crossbar, missed chances and Scott Graham scored an equalising header. Both sides had chances late in the match with Andy, Lava and Robert having the best for the Lochies but the game ended 1-1.
West Side are deserved champions. They have strength throughout the team and two or three very talented players in Ali Barvas, Innes Iain and Duncan Maclean. Congratulations to them but also great praise to Lochs for another excellent season in which they finished second only one point behind the champions.

Records Equalled and Surpassed as Lochs Net 14
Before tonight (Wed 3rd Sept) 13 was the most goals scored by Lochs in a competitive match. They did this most recently in the League against Westside and Harris and in the Eilean an Fhraoich against Harris and Tolsta. Tonight this was surpassed when they beat Back 14-1.
To add to this record Don “Lava” netted 7 times equalling the single game scoring record for the club held by “Chuck” who twice netted 7 times in 1965 and 1966.
All credit to those who turned out for Back and kept playing to the end in what was a convincing Lochs victory.

Roma Cup Returns to Lochs
Hector Martin(Leurbost), a member of the original Lochs side of 1934, is reunited with the Roma Cup he helped win in 1937. With him in the photo are his two sons Angus and Calum Dan, both stalwarts of Lochs sides in the 1970's and 80's.
When the then Stornoway Football Association decided to expand their League and Cup Competitions to include rural teams in 1937 the first trophy played for was the Roma Cup. It was won by Lochs FC who defeated Rovers in the final. The same cup was played for as an Under 15 schoolboy trophy in the 1960's and 1970's. Leurbost School won it the last three years it was played for in 1972, 1973 and 1974. the trophy was then given to the school to keep. Unfortunately it went missing when Leurbost School shut in 2001. It was however found by Charlie Nicolson who has now given it to Lochs FC for the time being and it is housed in the trophy cabinet at Sgoil nan Loch. If you are in the school look out for this piece of local history.
The photo shows Charlie Nicolson presenting the trophy to Iain Macleod the Secretary of Lochs FC.
