When do we meet?
The Leicestershire & Rutland Branch meets on the last Monday of each month.
But please check with the website and The Tiger for any changes where the last Monday falls on a Bank Holiday and during the Christmas period.
Where do we meet and at what time?
We meet at The Braunstone Civic Centre, 209 Kingsway, Braunstone Town, Leicester LE3 2PP. Meetings start at 7.00pm (for 7.30pm) and usually finish at around 9.45pm.
Who can attend our meetings.
We welcome all WFA members and non-members to our meetings. Basically, if you have an interest, no matter how large or small, in World War One then we would be delighted to see you.
How much does it cost to attend?
We do not currently charge an attendance fee but do suggest a voluntary contribution of £3 per person to cover venue and guest speaker costs.
Please remember that, contrary to popular belief, we do not receive any funding from the national Western Front Association and we rely solely on contributions from attendees at our meetings to keep the Branch going.
There is currently no annual membership fee so you can attend as many or as few meetings as you wish.
What happens at our meetings?
We have an extremely interesting and diverse programme of external and internal guest speakers throughout the year.
We run a popular raffle during the interval at each Branch meeting with a strip of tickets costing just £1.
Refreshments are available from the venue's pay bar on arrival and also during a short break at the mid-point of the guest speaker's talk which is usually at around 8.15pm.
Our meetings conclude by remembering individual men of Leicestershire and Rutland who died during WW1 either on the date of our meeting or next closest to it followed by a minute's silence and an exhortation of Binyon's For the Fallen.
