SCOTTISH SHORT MAT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015
Kintail Club headed to Dumfries for the SSMBF Scottish Championships played on the 6th Feb along with Scottish Open Triples on the 7th and the Scottish pairs Open on the 8th .

Friday saw the Scottish Championships taking place, with Dennis in the singles who won 3 of his games . Bart and Jim in the pairs had mixed fortunes , debutant Iain Grimmer skipping the 4s along with Anne , David and Duncan who won a game and a couple of draws in a tough section .
Due to Kevin Lawley not being a member of Kintail anymore he was unable to defend defend the Scottish Triples Championships which he won last year along with Craig and Roddy(skip). They called on associate member Allan Eddie from Mallaig to playas lead , in what many called the group of death which they survived and won all games apart from a draw with Jimmy Broatch's triple . The Kintail trio saw off Tabby Stephen from Alec's Collie with 2 ends to spare in the semi final . In the final they met Shep , Stewart Hiddleston and Jimmy Broatch , where again they drew over the customary ends, on to sudden death , Jimmy then won the toss and this provided conclusive as he took the match with the last bowl of the game.
On Sat in the Open Championships again there were lots of hard games . With the trio of David, Craig and Roddy getting to the semi finals , where again they lost to the very last bowl , before finishing 3rd on the day. Sunday saw more success in the pairs with qualifications to latter stages .
Kyleakin had the usual group of players down , and performed admirably as usual ; none more so than the quartet of Sandra Dew , John Govier , Geoff Harrington and the reliable Ian Sikorski who got beat in the final against defending champions Stranraer .
Dave and Heather Harrigan got beat in the Quarter finals on the Sunday in the Open pairs.
A VERY ENJOYABLE WEEKEND HAD BY ONE AND ALL , roll on next year
