Welcome to King Pins

The King Pins skittle team play in the Woodbury & District Skittles League, East Devon, their home alley is the Cannon Inn, Newton Poppleford near Sidmouth, Devon.

Eight players form a team. The league runs from the Autumn through to the Spring with 14 teams competing in the B league.

King Pins play at home on Fridays starting at 8.15pm. The team was formed nearly 30 years ago at a time when Newton Poppleford had two pubs and a social club all supporting a skittle alley along with about a dozen teams, sadly there is only the Cannon Inn left.

The game is played with nine pins set out within a diamond area at the end of an alley approx. 25 feet in length. Each team take it in turn to play eight legs, a good score for a leg is 60+ and each player can score with the three balls used anything from zero (known as a sunshine) to twentyseven. To average a score of 8 pins over a game is very good.
