Bath Cats and Dogs Home
Covering an area the size of London the Bath Cats and Dogs home accept all dogs, cats and small animals in need.
No matter what the circumstances are... lost, abused, sick, injured and unwanted.
They pride themselves on a strict non-destruction policy and aim to find every single animal a new loving home, no matter how long it may take.
The recue centre at Claverton Down in Bath is one of the busiest branches in the country, re homing over 2,000 dogs, cats and small animals each year. Like all branches they are an independent charity that receives little financial support from the National RSPCA and therefore rely heavily on charitable donations.
Every month they have a "Carer's Choice" list which are the most urgently needed re homing animals.
BUSTER
Buster is a very affectionate boy who would suit an experienced owner looking for a loyal companion. He is independent, not cuddly or lap dog but a lot of fun.
Buster is a friendly and energetic terrier who would like a very active household and someone who would like to play with him! He has an active mind and doesn't like to be bored.
He is sensitive to touch, so needs an owner who understands his boundries and consistent with his training and routine.
He loves walks and walks nicely on the lead, and will go for long walks. He has early onset arthritis so this needs to be monitored as he ages - although he is very young in spirit.
He is a little water baby and loves his paddling pool, and also likes to learn new things. Check out his video (see the video below) for how many tricks he knows! He would love to learn more.

GIZMO
Gizmo is a friendly lad once he knows you - he can be unsure initially of being handled by strangers but if you visit him a couple of times you will see him relax and respond well to you.
He loves his walks, and generally walks very well on the lead. He would need an active home as he is only young, with walks in quiet areas away from busy dog parks. He is very playful too, a lot of fun, and particularly loves his soft toys.He has not had an indoor home before, so will need some guidance with housetraining. He is pretty smart so will soon get the idea with consistent and gentle training.Because of his nervousness with being handled, we ask that any children are older teens and can understand his boundries.

WILLIAM
William is a happy old chap who would like a home with a garden to potter around in and a nice routine.
He is friendly but not necessarily a lap dog - he would make a wonderful companion though.
He is still playful and loves his soft squeaky toys - he plays until they squeak no more!
He is underweight but gaining weight nicely. Understandably he can often be hunting for food so a nice routine and consistency for his meals would help him settle.
William would be happy as a Companion Dog or having short walks, as he doesn't enjoy other dogs' company.
SHELBY
Shelby is a nervous girl looking for a quiet home with experienced owners who can make a real difference to her young life. She needs someone who is around a lot of the time.
She bonds very closely with her favourite people and would be a very loyal companion.
She is doing really well in her training here, and has shown great improvement. Shelby has discovered that she likes being outside, and that meeting new people can be nice - we are very proud of this clever young lady.
If you feel you may have the right home for her, then please come in for a chat with her carer and behaviourists, and we will arrange for you to meet her. With time and patience, Shelby could be a super dog.
BERNIE
Bernie is a lovely lad who adores sleeping and will come out to say hello for a fuss. He would like a quiet home in a countryside area with lots of safe outdoor space as he can roam. He loves his toys and catnip. He is very loving but doesn't like to be picked up - he would be fine with older children/teens. Please come in and meet him.
LILLY
Lily is a lovely lady who enjoys home comforts - she is looking for a quiet home wth plenty of snoozing spots. She likes her own space, especially at the moment as she is settling in, but will take a little fuss.
She will need a patient owner who will help her gain confidence. She will need to get used to larger spaces gradually - our cattery team will explain more when you visit. She hasn't experience with traffic so needs a more rural home.

MISTY
Misty is settling in our main cattery after bringing up her kittens with us. She needs a little time to trust you but then is an affectionate girl. You may wish to visit a couple of times before adopting to help her with the move. Please come in and meet her.
RHUBARB
Rhubarb is a curious rabbit who would like an interesting home with plenty to do and another bunny friend.
She can be a grumpy if you go to fast with her, but just take it slow and she will come up to you for a little fuss.
She likes to have her paddock area just as she likes it and will move everything around to how she wants it!
Rhubarb would like a home with someone who has had rabbits before, and she would not be suitable as a children's pet. However spend a little time with this girl and you will find an interesting and characterful companion. Please come in and meet her.
