Rourkes Drift we drove to Fugitives Drift on Thursday, we followed the sat nav and probably got within a couple of miles as the crow flies but we 60 odd km short by road. We arrived at around 18:00 had a couple of beers and got ready for a five course dinner which was superb. pre dinner involved canapes and beer around a file outdoors. we had an early breakfast 07:00 and was driven to Isandlwana where we the guide explained the build up to the battle, the battle itself and the aftermath. We returned to Fugitives drift for lunch and a couple of hours chilling out then we went to Rourkes drift. a different guide explained the evnets of the night and the heroics displayed by the welshmen. It was very moving and one of the highlights of the holiday. we then drove to Joburg Posted by Gareth on 07 July 2009 nearly home you will be on your way home now, we are all ready to see you and are missing you lots.
