Atomic Club (Review 24th April 2011)

We finished the after noon with Hytch A Ryde – a regular visitor to Atomic – never sure who or what is going to turn up within Hytch, as June is always trying to progress her band and a new line up is expected soon. On this occasion June announce that they were doing an acoustic set and her guitar player was playing an electric guitar with June playing drums for the first time.

Far away – bolt from the blue – shadows of another day – newfound height – when all said and done – walked away. All self penned songs and many well constructed and performed.

HITCH A RYDE

June and colleague decided to play an acoustic set, a very well received change to the last time they played at ATOMIC. Personally i felt that the set they did suited June much better and let her know that was the opinion of the guys sharing the table i was sitting at. Once again I cannot give more details on the songs played as i have not been given the required information. However nuff to say the set was well thought out – relaxed and good to listen to.

The Big Mic Up  ( Review 7th October 2010)

Playing live at Shelley Leigh's H.A.R. were introduced by Kenny McLeod as "that great new sound by Hytchin' A Ryde" and at the end of the set H.A.R. were thanked and praised as "that was the sensational new sound by Hytchin' A Ryde".

HYTCH A RIDE

This was the first visit to Atomic by Hytch A Ride to play their unique style of original rock music.  June (singer song writer fronts person) visited us last month and was keen to return to do a set. We all thought she was going to play solo as a singer song writer, but along she came with her band.  A very energetic set where June tried to get the audience involved, perhaps there will be more chance of success at the Christmas function, once a few beers have gone over. HAR already have picked up a following and we hope the visit to Atomic helps with their development and we will welcome HYTCH A RIDE  back to Atomics December meeting – remember June you have to SING A CHRISTMAS SONG as part of the deal.  Novel approach as June really got into the role of a rock star chick and even did the introduction of the band routine at the end  of the set – nice touch.
