These are my thoughts, feelings and fears shared with you all! My mother says we are very brave, my Dad, well, what does he think? Mad, stupid, crazy idiots? Who knows! Dads are very secretive!

First Guests arriving in 2wks!

by Wendy - 10:44 on 28 September 2009

We, the royal 'we', have invited my parents up, for mum's birthday. The only thing is . . .  it is now only 2 weeks away! Still, we are making very good progress! Amazing how it can kick you into action!

David has been working on the all the woodwork in the Edwardian bedroom. It is now looking very swish, with it's raised ceiling, treated wooden rafters, ceiling under coated; skirting boards, dado, picture rail and arcitrave have been expertly cut, levelled and added! Oh yes, and a handmade, made to measure, new wooden fire surround. Very nice too!

I have been making curtains and pelmets, along with the jam and jelly making! (Oh and teaching, cooking, cleaning, sanding, sleeping!)

Sunday, we dashed out to look at some carpets taking with us the swatches of curtain fabric. We found exactly what we had in mind and could be, possibly be, hopefully be fitted the day before mum and dad arrive! We have ordered the carpet for the Edwardian Suite and the Dining Room. Oh, yes, that now means that my workshop is on the move again, next weekend! Back to the Victorian bedroom this time! I have requested lighting and heating be on 'tap' before I actually make the move. . .

That just leaves us with all the painting, finishing the curtains and pelmets, hanging the chandelier, and the door, sorting the room out (if the carpet is layed in time) and buying a mattress for the bed! Easy!

I would like to thank Wendy and David for a fantastic stay at Home Hall. The bedroom, dining room, food and service was delightful. I highly recommend a stay, what a joy!

Hi Jean, no sorry we aren't related, but we do know where some of the Christopher Bush family are, and can email your details to them, if you like. Thanks for asking.
