The grip is your contact with the club so it is very important it is exactly right for your game, a Golfer playing twice a week should be looking to replace their grips annually, of course it goes without saying if there is any wear and tear showing they need replacing immediately.

When a new grip comes onto the market you should also think carefully as to whether you could gain benefit by fitting them onto your set. After all, modern surfaces keep improving all the time and technology constantly improves giving you better adhesion and contact in your hands.

Grip size is very important too - too small would rotate the hands quickly giving a draw or hook shot. On the other hand too thick a grip would hinder or slow the club rotation giving a slice or fade shot.

Climate conditions can influence grip selection too, Some grips react better in wet and some react better in drier or more humid conditions. those of you who like to play abroad regularly may like to consider this point.

Most grips, especially worn or part worn grips, react unfavourably in cold conditions.

Badly fitted grips can also cause alignment problems which can lead to a whole host of problems, so it is always best to get them done professionally.

Which Grips Are Best for Me?

This is a difficult question to answer. Again our personal one to one service can advise on the best option for you and your game,  One of the first things to take into account is the size - do you need standard, oversized or jumbo grips? If you have small hands then consider going for a ladies grip - no one will know and the improvement will be dramatic.
