The Club shall be called: FRINTON ROAD SHORT MAT BOWLS CLUB
And its home venue is: Holland Public Hall,137-139 Frinton Road, Holland-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO15 5UR
Objectives
To promote short mat bowls activities.
To encourage new members and help beginners.
To create a friendly, social atmosphere where all participants can enjoy themselves.
Committee
The business of the Club and its operation shall be managed by a committee elected annually from members attending the AGM.
The committee shall consist of a minimum of at least 3 members. The officers to be appointed will be a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Other positions may be co-opted as required.
Membership
The Club has an Equal Opportunities Policy and membership is open to any person.
There is an annual subscription plus a fee for playing each session. The amount payable is to be determined at each AGM.
The Committee shall have complete powers to regulate the members forming the membership of the club, and to suspend, or expel, any member not conforming to the rules or conduct required of the Club.
The Club is jointly owned by all paid up Members.
Finances
Proper accounts are to be kept to record all sums of money received and expended by the Club as well as assets and liabilities.
The Committee shall submit to the AGM the income and expenditure of the Club together with the balance at the end of the preceding financial year, certified as correct by an auditor appointed by the Committee.
Cheques drawn on the Club shall be signed by two of the following: the Chairman, Treasurer or Secretary.
Annual General Meeting
The Chairman and Treasurer should prepare reports on the Club’s finances and activities for presentation at the AGM.
The Chairman shall take the chair and in his/her absence, the Secretary to stand in.
Dress Code
All members must wear white tops and greys
Flat soled shoes are mandatory.
Shorts are not allowed.
Attendance
As a matter of courtesy you should let someone know if you cannot attend for one month or more. Otherwise, it will be assumed that your membership has ceased.
Dissolution
The Club may be dissolved at a special meeting for all Members on the register. At such a meeting, a majority of 75 percent of the Members present and entitled to vote shall be required to obtain a motion. If it is carried then the assets of the Club – after payment of all debts and liabilities – shall be devoted to local charity/charities as designated by the meeting. However, equipment purchased through donations received shall be given to other bowls clubs.
